Maude Horton's Glorious Revenge by Lizzie Pook

4.0

Thank you to Netgalley, Lizzie Pook the Author and the publisher for an e-ARC. ⁣

A gripping, and grisly tale about a girl searching for answers about her high spirited sister who boarded a ship under the guise of “Jack Aldridge” determined to find adventure in a time when women were to be seen and not heard (and most definitely not, to be boarding ships heading to the Arctic) ⁣

However, upon return of the ship and crew Maude receives news her sister has died aboard the ship and no one will provide her with answers she desperately seeks, to gain closure about her beloved sister’s untimely death. ⁣

This sets Maude on a path of revenge, a ⁣
glorious one at that. ⁣

This is my first read by this author and I enjoyed the writing. I could almost smell the stench of Victorian London and the tightly packed crowds.⁣

Very well researched and written, would recommend to those who like historical fiction reads!
