How dare you punch me in the feels so hard, man? The audacity, seriously.
I have loved this series immensely so far, each book hitting the right notes for me. Great characters, wonderful stories, swoony romances, low on the angst scale, found family,... But this one hit me just a little harder than the others did and it was entirely unexpected. Yes, I've been looking forward to getting Marnin's story but it was so much more than I thought it'd be.
First of all, I really love this group of characters, okay? Forestville won me over big time and if I could, I'd move there so they could be my friends. There's also a cameo for the MC's of Nora's Foster Brothers series, which was fun! Granted, I only know them by name only, but it made me pick up the series so I can read it asap, so there's that.
But let's talk about the MC's, okay? Ennie is such a beautiful soul. He's such a sweetheart, such a perfect sunshine for Marnin and I loved him immensely. BUT. Marnin stole my heart, y'all. Right from the prologue, he owned me. He had me all up in my feels the whole way through and he made me CRY, DANGIT. I don't cry easily with books, yet here I was, blubbering like a baby. Their journey is so beautiful and I loved every second of it.
Comforting the Grump is another great addition to an already wonderful series and I hope this isn't the last we've seen of these characters! Highly recommended.
