Dark romance isn't usually a genre I gravitate towards, but I've heard good things about this one and my book club was reading it. About what I expected from the genre, though I do wish the trigger warnings had been slightly more detailed. "Gleeful violence" and "torture" aren't really descriptive enough for one scene late in the book
where Hook has starving rats put on a man's stomach to eat him alive
. I enjoyed the book for what it was and won't be seeking out any more dark romances anytime soon.
