If you’re looking for an introductory fantasy, this would be a good one. I’m trying to get into fantasy more, and this has the politics of high adult fantasy, but in a much lighter way that is explained clearly for young readers. The world is cool and not too intense to enter into. The most difficult part of this world is all the creatures and locations but even those are not too bad.  This almost gives off crazy fantasy vibes because it’s YA, but it’s not cozy as in “low stakes and little violence.”  It does have violence and high stakes, but it just feels wholesome.
