I really enjoyed discovering the plot as I read. It had a very crime/thriller feel to it which I enjoyed as a contrast to the 18th century historical backdrop, especially combined with the mysticism of the card reading. I liked the detail of the chapters reflecting the cards, and how the book uncovered lies and truths within lies. Worth a read, especially if you want to branch out into historical fiction or crime novels.
