To start off--I do really like this book and I want to rate it higher but I can't. The characters were interesting and seeing the two MC's relationship develop is really fun but my god I must be dumb. There were so many pages where I was just completely lost on the plot. Don't get me wrong, by the end, I did feel like I had an ok understanding of the story but that might be giving me too much credit. When I first bought this book many months ago, I got to page 52 before dropping it. Now I managed to get through it, mildly to very confused the whole way. I really want to love this story because so many other danmei fans do but this book drained me and I still don't understand who the prince is and why some guy killed him years ago or why it matters in the first place.
Will I be reading the rest of the books? Yes of course. Will I understand it? Absolutely not.
