The only thing that kept me reading was the fat representation. I stopped about 80% of the way through (enough for me to feel ok marking it as 'read') because I couldn't really stand Cannie anymore. The plot thread with her mother was wrought with homophobia (Cannie's thoughts were likely more acceptable when the book was first released, but made it more difficult to like Cannie) and it was difficult to see why she was obsessed with getting Bruce back.
