Darcy was completely unlikeable for the first half of this book. She's ignorant and immature, she doesn't recognise that she's an awful person, and she does things without thinking, without considering others or the future. But she learns from it and improves as a person. She's in no way a good person, but she considers others or at least tries. The romance was incredibly lovely: understated, slow and really just a development from friendship to love. Although attracted to each other, it really was just Darcy and Ethan loving each other as people before falling for each other. If Darcy wasn't so irritating and self-centred in the first half of this book, I'd probably give it at least four stars. Incredibly well written.
