suzybeagle 's review for:
The Witch's Daughter
by Paula Brackston
I found this book to be an enjoyable read. I especially enjoyed the story lines that were set in the past. I never really connected with the "present" action. The present part was supposed to be what was written in Bess' journal, but contained full quotes and and exposition. It's a bit of pet peeve of mine when authors so this - it would have been perfectly fine if not framed as being journal entries, or if journal entries were mixed with traditional prose.
All in all, I would recommend this book, and look forward to picking up the second book in the series at some point.
