The Lady in the Lake by Raymond Chandler
4.0

"However hard I try to be nice I always end up with my nose in the dirt"

The pacing and description within this book are truly incredible, maintaining my engagement through all 266 pages. Chandler had crafted Marlowe to be a wise cracking narrator who manages to lay out all the clues to you until you think you can see the connection only to be hit with the twist that I definitely didn't see coming.

The plot was complicated and yet tied together with enough frequency that you didn't get confused or lost at any point.
Masterful story telling and a genuinely good read, 5 stars!
