This is a reread for me that I decided to pick up after I found myself continuously thinking about it in the last year since I first discovered it. It remains a very solid five star read that uses verse style to tell the incredible story of Artemisia Gentileschi who took her rapist to trial in 1611 when most women were considered objects and property that no one would believe or stand up for. Her story is mirrored by those of Susannah and Judith from the Bible as she relates her situation and emotions to them. It is a wonderful book that I cannot recommend more highly.
