Before We Forget Kindness by Toshikazu Kawaguchi
3.0

Like I anticipated based on the previous volume, this one is more of the same formula. The pattern gets very repetitive, and while not a bad read, it's a little stale. It feels like some characters interactions or descriptions of history or foods are really just included to pad the word count. And some of the scenarios the author came up with were a bit unsatisfying, while others felt too much like reaching for ideas without them landing strongly. Again, not bad at all, and I like how quick it is to read, but it doesn't add much to the ideas already presented in the 4 previous books.

Not a strong recommendation from me, but if you don't mind more of the same rules explanation and dialogue with slightly differing setups, then it's short enough of a read that it doesn't hurt to give it a try. I'll probably be reading volume 6 when it comes out in English despite these critiques, anyways.
