An Ice Cold Grave by Charlaine Harris

3.0

Charlaine Harris's "An Ice Cold Grave" is another fine entry in the increasingly interesting Harper Connelly mystery series. The central mystery of "An Ice Cold Grave" revolves around the disappearance of numerous teenage boys from a small North Carolina town. Main character Harper Connelly once again becomes involved in crime-solving thanks to her uncanny ability to sense and locate dead bodies. Harper is called in to locate bodies, as only she can do, and finds herself increasingly embroiled in the violence lurking around every corner. The mystery is well plotted and quite disturbing, with enough twists and turns to satisfy. Even more satisfying is the forward movement in Harper's relationship with her stepbrother Tolliver. While the main storyline definitely kept my attention, I especially enjoyed the growth and development of the continuing characters, and can't wait to see what happens next. Unfortunately, there are still several months to go until the next book in the series is published.
