Odd Thomas by Dean Koontz

2.0

I watched the movie first and the movie was just OK. I thought maybe it was dumbed down from the book but I think it was actually better in a lot of ways. This story tries too hard to be quirky and it just ends up annoying. There are so many things repeated and elements added that aren't necessary and don't add anything to the plot or characters. I find it funny that Odd has no car for "simplicity" but then proceeds to borrow or steal others' cars for the entire length of the book. He literally has a car in almost every scene! And almost to the end of the book he decides to abbreviate his 'psychic magnetism' as PMS? Weird, and not in a good way.
