I did like this book, but aside from the main character none of the other characters stood out to me or really seemed to interesting. I know that its probably because more time was spent on creating the world and advancing the plot, not to mention the deep layers of the main character's thoughts and emotions. I hope the next book has more character development for side characters, but other than that it was a really fun and interesting book. The idea of a villain as a main character while not really knowing it was interesting and different. Marie Lu is really good at beautiful layered descriptions and I really love her writing style. Sometimes it makes the story slow, which is an issue for me since I have a small attention span, but I still really liked it.
