This book is a fast-paced, captivating thriller set in Tranqulity, a small resort town in Maine.
The storyline follows Dr Claire Elliot as she tries to negotiate the dynamics of a secretive and untrusting small knit community AND find a medical explanation for an outbreak of unexplainable teenage violence with fatal consequences.
The story introduces an interesting cast of characters who all had a role to play in the unfolding drama. Also, I did love certain relationships that emerged.
I recommend this book. On the whole, it was an entertaining read. I was enthralled from start to finish because the concept was fascinating, but there were a lot of twists and turns, which made it a little hard to follow in parts.
The climax was unpredictable and quite surprising. However, it ended quite abruptly. I wanted a little bit more.
