Seven Ways to Lose Your Heart by Tiffany Truitt

3.0

This is an NA romance starring Kennedy and Annabel. The two were best friends until Annabel was in a terrible car accident, and Kennedy, being 10, didn't handle the situation properly. He abandoned her, and that was the end of their friendship -- until one morning, when he honks his horn at Annabel. Something made Kennedy initiate this "communication" between the two, and it grows and grows as the story progresses. This friendship was born from a dare, and it is mended with a dare.
It wasn't the accident that changed my world, it was not having you in it.

I really liked the concept - best friends who grew apart, but realized they were better together. I am a sucker for friends to lovers story, and bonus, it's sort of a second chance romance too. The journey back to each other was quite fun, with the record store, break in, road trip, and music festival. When I was 20, I would have been right there with them.

I really liked Kennedy. He was not perfect, in fact, he was quite flawed, but he did everything with good intentions. He wanted the pre-accident Annabel back. That fun, fearless girl, who would get him into heaps of trouble. As the story progresses, he realizes that some of that girl is still there, but she has changed too, and he accepts some of this new Annabel. He accepts that her experiences have changed her, and he wants to grow with her.
I just wanted my friend back, and then I realized that friend was amazing and hot and all the things that musicians write power ballads about.

Overall: cute and fluffy fun romance with hijinks and witty characters and lots of heart.
