It took me longer to read this book than I expected it to. It reminded me of Hot Milk, by Deborah Levy, and My Year of Rest and Relaxation, by Ottessa Moshfegh - I think I'd include it in the category of recently published novels that centre on a complexly flawed, and ultimately mentally ill female protagonist. I enjoyed the relatively lyrical writing style, and was excited to see Avni Dosh had studied at the same university as I did, but I'm still not convinced this style of book is the one for me.
