Our Wives Under The Sea by Julia Armfield
4.0
This a beautifully written story of love and loss, with a slowly building creepiness. I loved reading it: emotional, unsettling, but it's not for everyone. It's a slow, quiet book despite the horror element. I was slightly disappointed with the end; I'd have preferred it to remain unexplained, rather than confuse me with a hazy explanation, or perhaps I just didn't understand it.
Think The Astronaut's Wife or Metamorphosis.
