I decided to reread this book because it was sitting on my shelves and for the life of me I couldn’t remember anything about the plot besides that it’s about a girl who is flirting with a guy at school who just so happens dad is dating her mom. Now concept wise I was like shit this must have been good or steamy or some shit like that would make a great 18+ character story that could be crazy all around depending on how it’s done.
Welp that’s not the case. Our characters are 14 and our main girl thinks she’s in love with a guy that up until this point she barely acknowledged until he just randomly kissed her for god knows what reason. Also because this random boy kissed her and now she’s infatuated by him it makes her a slut. She called herself a slut like 4 times in just 2 pages all due to a kiss with a random classmate. Wtf was my younger self thinking when I decided that book is great let’s keep it forever.
The ONLY thing that I can say is a positive is that she legit said this boys kiss felt weird and gross and he tasted like mildew. Which as my younger sister (15 yo) heard me repeat said “straight up cause teen boys don’t know any sort of hygene besides
