Love & Gelato by Jenna Evans Welch
5.0

I already read this two years ago, but since the third sequel was out. I reread it to refresh my memories. I was shocked at how much I loved this. It is a one-of-a-kind YA Contemporary. It does not focus mainly on love and those cheesy lines. But it tells the story of Lina, a 16-year-old girl whose mother passes away from pancreatic cancer. She flies to Italy for the summer to fulfill her mother’s last wish. Her mother also seemed to arrange for her to live with Howard – a father she never even knew existed. While in Italy, she received the journal of her mom that will uncover the biggest secret.

Love and Gelato is made of sugar and spice and everything nice. It was perfect. I loved the twist that adds an element to the story. Everything about this is positively wonderful. The characters were amazing. The setting was perfect. Who would not love Italy? This will give the experience to know more about Italy and its history. Everything is captivating. The writing style is very catchy and addicting.

Overall, it is a must-read book! Especially, if you are experiencing a reading slump. You can finish this book in one sitting. It was a fun, cute, and incredibly easy read.
