Wundersmith: The Calling of Morrigan Crow
by Jessica Townsend
I don’t think I can sum up how much I love this book in a few paragraphs, so here’s a list of stuff I love about this series (and it’s a long one):
- Morrigan Crow is cursed, sassy, & talented queen who really needs a hug.
- Jupiter North is a chaotic pansexual mess who also really needs a hug.
- Hawthorne Swift gets introduced in a fuzzy pink cat sweater while dumping frogs on a garden party (do I need to say more?).
- Cadence Blackburn is a mesmerist that no one remembers and doesn’t really care about anyone’s opinion.
- Fen, Frank, Jack, Miss Cheery, and practically everyone else are amazing too.
- The main villain gets in your brain and stays there (also he’s a psychopath that needs to stay 45674326891468 billion miles away from Mog).
- ALSO almost all the characters either are of color, lgbtqia+, or just overall accepting of everything.
- The Wunderous Society is my backup option if I can’t go to Hogwarts.
- And practically everything else in the book is fantastic as well.
Just please go read the Morrigan Crow series by Jessica Townsend. I can almost guarantee you won’t be disappointed!
