The Woman in Me
by Britney Spears
dark
sad
medium-paced
A heartbreaking account of Britney's home life, career, and conservatorship. I thought the ghost writer did an excellent job keeping Britney's voice and making a cohesive narrative and Michelle Williams did an excellent job narrating. I didn't feel that this memoir was too shallow, but rather gave an explanation (not that one was needed) of Britney's headspace and the healing journey she is on. I hope she finds peace and joy in whatever she chooses to do!
Graphic: Forced institutionalization, Medical trauma
Moderate: Alcoholism, Body shaming, Bullying, Domestic abuse, Misogyny, Abortion, Gaslighting
Minor: Miscarriage, Alcohol
