Reminds me a lot of Andy Weir's style, which I absolutely love. Ashton does an amazing job at keeping the tone casual and humorous while also introducing some very well thought out future technology with enough detail to totally make sense and not feel like reading a textbook. He also throws in mentions of historical events in this universe he's created, and then takes the time for Mickey to explain them without disrupting the flow.
