I was excited to pick this book up, thinking I would learn thriller story construction from a talented author. Instead I found myself swept along in a compelling story. I thoroughly loved this book. The main characters were tough and believable. Their actions were so well motivated that I felt like I knew them.

I read all of Garwood's historicals and was devastated when she made the jump to thriller writing. However, I now see the tenderness that initially drew me to her work in her thrillers. It took a while for the scales to fall from my eyes.

I'll be picking up the rest of her thrillers, count on it. I highly recommend this book for those who like fast paced reads.
