I understand this is a YA novel and I read primarily NA, but this felt a little insulting to young adults. It was definitely written more for middle schoolers, which is absolutely fine, it’s just strange to read about characters who are turning 18 in language that reads for 10-13 year olds. It was extremely repetitive and needed a big edit. Lots of plot holes, things that didn’t make sense, and redundancy.

It was cute and still a fun read, but to compare it with the princess diaries was very inaccurate. It was an easy read and I didn’t have to think much about it, which was good.

I’m just sooo confused how these countries can be so damn progressive for women’s rights and queer rights…but then arranged marriages are a thing? What?
