Half Broke Horses: A True-Life Novel
by Jeannette Walls
3.75 stars. I really enjoyed the language in this book. Bringing back words like gumption and Crumb-bum. The head strong Matriarch was a bit hard to jib with. I feel like she never showed any signs or doubt or second guessing which could be in part to the fact that the story was written by her granddaughter who saw her as a strong woman who never did have any doubts. Unfortunately, it just made Lily a bit of an unreliable/ unrealistic character for me.
