This is one of those books that is just fun to read and pretty addictive.
I love mystery books when they’re done right and in a satisfying way where it doesn’t feel like there’s too little information until the very end and I would say this book does a very nice job at doing that.
I found the start to be a bit slow and the setting was a little generic for this type of book but i enjoyed it still as the characters were good and learning more about the setting and family was enough for me to look past the more stereotypical mystery/thriller elements.
One of my biggest complaints for the book was the twist was too predictable, I knew what was going to happen way too soon and it felt like a lot of the hints were very out there so the twist wasn’t as satisfying as it could’ve been for me but it was still handled very well when it came to it imo, I just wish it wasn’t so foreseeable.
I loved the entire second and third part of the book, even though the twist was expected, I still really loved learning about the truth and how all the events played out and it was was very hard to stop reading once I reached that point. It all flowed very nicely from that moment and there were still a lot of things I didn’t see coming or know what to expect such as Millie’s background and I just really loved how everything played out and just having the whole narrative turned. It’s hard to really explain without spoilers but it was a very fun turn of events that was gripping and I would recommend this to any mystery/thrillers fans looking for just a fun read.
I’m looking forward to reading the next book in the series however I feel like this could’ve easily been a standalone book, so I’m hoping the next book elevates the series to a new height rather than be too similar to this one
