I think this is easily one of my favorite books out of the series so far. I love the word ersatz. I love the concept of an ersatz elevator and where it led. For me, this is also where the story is building up and more mysteries are coming out, especially with that damn elevator. Jerome is nice and all, but the fact that he doesn't want to argue with people is so problematic, which is the entire point of him, but it drives me up the wall. Like he actually cared about the children, but he did nothing to help them because he didn't want to argue. He was also close friends with their mother and things were brought up, but he never finished. In the end, he said that their mother always thought he was not brave. There is also the fact that Esme said that Beatrice stole something from her. Who is Beatrice? I do not know because I only read up to book 8. So many mysteries.

Also, is Olaf clever? Or are the adults just really that stupid? Tune in later to find out.
