Fairytale Come Alive by Kristen Ashley

Fairytale Come Alive was such a heartwarming tale that just worked out so well for me. I truly think with each installment, the books just get better on this. I really love the almost "Magical Realism" feel to these stories. Where they are definitely contemporary but have some magical elements that are woven so flawlessly into the story. This is a second chance romance where the major timeline is with more mature characters. This is what KA is so well talented on and she definitely writes this so well into her stories.

The Gist of the story is that our heroine is being abused by her father, and is forced to break off her engagment with the man she loves. They have been seperated for some time, until she comes back over a decade later to attend her best friend's wedding. The hero has married, been widowed and has two small children to take care of. The ghost of his widow is still around the mansion as she attempts to heal those bridges when it becomes apparent, that the heroine has loved the hero for 20 years and aches to be with him but doesn't find she is worthy of it. While our main characters learn to reconnect, we have some shenanigans from these charming children, some solid friendships being portrayed and the ghost of our hero's dead wife doing her best to heal wounds and protect our characters so she can find peace and move on.

I found the story to be such an endearing tale! I absolutely loved seeing the conflict get resolved between the couple by 50% and have other conflicts that they need to work through together. This story just had such a relatable feel to it, and I truly enjoyed the manner in which the story was written. KA is such a solid author and the way that she penned this romance just delivered on all fronts. Now I have to say that most especially the ending was the most magical aspect of this story, so its definitely worth the 650 pages of reading to get to that. I really enjoyed the way that our hero and heroine are with each other, the redemption of the characters and the growth that delivers in every way. You can never go wrong with a classic KA novel in your hand!
