daniellepatterson 's review for:
Lady Tan's Circle of Women
by Lisa See
Edit: can’t stop thinking about this book so bumping my rating up to 5.
4.5⭐️ I learned so much! And sometimes when that is said I feel like interesting also means slightly boring, because that takes me back to mandatory readings in school. Which if we’re being honest is not usually fun. That is what I love the most about a great historical fiction novel though- great book AND I happened to learn a ton along the way. This was a part of history I’ve never read about before so very new for me. The author did an excellent job narrating this story from the perspective of a 15th century woman of this time- not a 21st century woman placed in a 15th century story. This made it more convincing and I found all the medical treatments/information on foot binding so interesting.
Read if you liked the frozen River or the lion women of Tehran. The audio narration was excellent!
