This would be close to a 5 star read for me if not for one thing, and I’m gonna put a spoiler on it for ppl that just don’t wanna know, and also so I can say what I want, but it’s to do with the smut. Which is a shame to say, but
she calls him daddy, and he calls her little girl, and I cannot get over it. I already don’t like the “daddy” kink, absolutely no shame to those who do, but it is super cringe for me, and then the little girl on top of it just gives me major ick. I also don’t think it was handled all that well, he spanks her, which I am not opposed to, but he gives her warnings, like a count of how many spanks she’s earning, and it’s just not clear that’s what he’s doing, and it’s also for things he says are bratty, but really aren’t. I skipped all the smut after that first scene because I would have had to dnf otherwise
anyway besides that this could have been my favorite in the series Hans is my type of deranged obsessed mmc. There some light stalking, it’s a slower burn than anything else in the series which I really enjoyed, and the plot was fantastic. A great mix of action and heart. Cassie is also my favorite fox in the series, she is badass, and totally perfect for Hans. I feel bad rating it less than a 4, but the ick factor for me really almost made me put it down completely.
