A really pleasant, sweet romance fantasy that - for me - felt like Regency/Jane Austen plus magic and more diversity. I enjoyed basically every part of this story, though the ending is *very* happily-ever-after (not a bad thing at all, just not usually what I end up reading and was honestly a bit of a surprise). I loved the magic system; the characters were enjoyable and textured; and the wish fulfillment ending was very touching.
My one complaint is I felt the romance between two particular characters didn't seem well-established enough for me but that's a very small complaint. Overall, really lovely story from a strong fantasy author.
