cryonics 's review for:

Nausea by Jean-Paul Sartre
3.5

This was an enjoyable read and study into the mind of someone going through an existential crisis. I think the best parts of this book are when Antoinne really starts losing it,  that seems to be when Sartre expresses his ideas best. This was the first book of its type (philosophical fiction) I've ever read and it was slightly challenging at times for me to grasp what Sarte was getting at, but I walked away from the book satisfied in my understanding of it. It can be slightly drab at times where it seems like Antoinne is just hanging out at some coffee shop in Bouville, but there is a sense of serenity in these scenes I appreciate.
