The Bear by Andrew Krivak

How I read this: Free audiobook copy received through Libro.fm
What an odd little book. In a totally good way.
This was poignant. Quiet, beautiful, yet sad. Lonely, yet fulfilled. It's rare that I'll enjoy the use of magical realism in a book, but I did here. It was so tastefully done.
To say anything more is kind of to spoil it. All I can say is that this book is sort of a story of growing up, of a connection to nature and the outside world. Of loneliness and dealing with it, and finding your inner strength. And so many more things that I can't seem to put my finger on. This book itself is kind of a mystery. It was pretty magical.
I thank the publisher and libro.fm for giving me a free copy of the audiobook in exchange to my honest review. This has not affected my opinion.
