I would have given this book a 2.5. It was entertaining. I thought the world was refreshing and different because I normally gravitate towards fantasy. It felt really young - I think some of the content takes this out of a YA age but it didn’t feel adult. The character relationships felt a bit shallow and the found family didn’t really feel like one I’d want to join- too insta family. Same with the romance - not super developed. The characters felt one-sided and it was supposed to show character growth by the end but the character development felt really predictable and flat. The plot was fun and it was action-packed - good for an enjoyable time.
