A dramatic tale with clever use of imagery and metaphors. The locations used in the story left strong impressions, especially that of No Man's Land. Although the book has a slow start, the plot ramps up quickly and I would've liked to spend more time in Perfect before moving into the main adventure.
The plot and tropes were at times predictable, and the dialogue best suited for those in the target age group. However, I imagine children that enjoy fantastical stories that are a step away from light-hearted children's literature will enjoy this.

Moderate: Gun violence, Violence, and Drug use
Minor: Injury/Injury detail, Pregnancy, and War
