Bad Mexicans: Race, Empire, and Revolution in the Borderlands by Kelly Lytle Hernández

adventurous challenging dark informative medium-paced

4.0

This historical work by Kelly Lytle Hernández is a must for students of U.S.-Mexico relations, Mexican history or Latino history. While at times she went too deep or not deep enough into specific moments, the overall message from her intense historical work packed a punch and enlightened me to a more detailed history of the precursors to the Mexican revolution, as well as the individuals who made it possible.
