We Who Hunt The Hollow by Kate Murray
This book was not for me, and I think it's probably the only YA title I've read that I feel was too young for me to read and that's coming from someone who's majority of fantasy books are YA.
I dnf'd this at roughly 50% which was really disappointing. My main gripes with this book were:
- The main character: she was impulsive in a bad way. I love an impulsive character (eg. Tea from Bone Witch trilogy) but Priscilla was truly just... stupid, for lack of a better word. All of her decisions were bad ones.
- The plot: it was wayy too predictable. I guessed who our mystery antagonist would be in the first couple chapters and I was proven right soooo quickly. This book truly made me feel like an old lady watching her impulsive child go off and do something without a single thought, very Ariel-esque.
I truly couldn't recommend older teens or adults to read this, I feel like it wouldn't be satisfying in the slightest. A gift for a kid that's just starting to read YA though would probably enjoy this.
