The Turn of the Key by Ruth Ware

5.0

Rowan Caine is awaiting trial for a child's murder. The story is told by her view about what happened. Starting with her taking a nanny position in the Scottish highlands for the Elincourt family living at the Heatherbrae House. She quickly learns nothing as it seems and experiences reasons why the previous nannies might have quit.

I've never read a book like this. It kept me “on the edge of my seat” so to speak really, just shaking in my bed as a listen to the audiobook. AND THE ENDING, THE ENDING! Bottom line is the book creeped me out and had my heart pounding! If you aren’t used to reading horror stories, then this might be the book for you.
Spoiler I doubt the little girl would have had her life ruined. I mean if she’s willing to keep a secret for the rest of her life they could have come up with a better story.
