I wish I could give it 3.5 stars. Damn Goodreads. But as paranormal romances go, this one was actually a fun read. The author balanced the romance with the paranormal aspects pretty well, although there was more of an emphasis on the romance aspect of that, which is fine with me as that is how the book is being marketed. My personal preferences are for plot and character driven books- i'm not real big on romance, which is why I was surprised to find myself enjoying this one. I will definitely be on the lookout for the second book. I took off a few stars b/c there were some empty plot holes- What ever happened to Lexi, the waitress?
