Anne of Windy Poplars by L.M. Montgomery

3.5

Truthfully I don't love the epistolary format, though I suppose there isn't inherently a huge difference between Anne's long rambly letters and her long rambly monologues in the previous books; probably you could chalk up the major changes to Anne growing up, but it's kind of a disappointing shift. Maybe it's also that most of our beloved familiar cast is off-page, living their own lives which we barely get to see?

While I still enjoyed this one, more than not, there's definitely a clear disconnect from the previous books in the series.
