Amaryllis by Jayne Castle

Amaryllis is a prism, a person who can focus the power of other people to make it more effective. Rather accustomed to a clerical way of living, her life changed completely after her meeting with Lucas Trent, a psychic-man who hides a big secret ...
The huge problem with this book are the characters : I don't get attached to them, hell I don't give a damn about them !! They were bland, tasteless and I didn't care a bit what could happen to them. The heroine was annoying at best and the hero was not really useful. The romance was also too artificial ... In addition, I found some similarities with the Psy-Changeling series but unfortunately it's more like a bad copy more than anything else ...
The story was a bit farfetched and the investigation was not really interesting (and not useful AT ALL !!) and if the end was surprising ... Well in fact, I didn't really care about the true culprit xD
Yet the universe that the author creates is extraordinary : a distant colony with advanced technologies, a society based on marriage and family and some weird psychic powers >< It got potential !!
In short, I think I'd read the next book because I loved the world but I hope that the next characters will be better !!
