This well-written novel deftly describes the conflict in Afghanistan while also drawing the reader in with an entertaining plot and fleshed out characters. The plot was occasionally predictable, but nevertheless I found myself speeding to the end to find out how everything was settled. I was pleasantly surprised to realize that the female narrator had been written by a man. I look forward to reading more of his work.
