King's Cage by Victoria Aveyard
3.0
Another book down in the Red Queen series. I enjoyed the first book in the series, I really did, but I think this book dragged on much longer than it should of. Half of the book is focused on Mare imprisoned by Maven and it is not exactly interesting. She lives the same habits on repeat and as a reader, it becomes repetitive and tiresome. I did, however, enjoy the focus on Maven though. The fact that this villain is manipulated by a ghost and he has no idea if he is evil or not... It is interesting enough to find out if he can be redeemed. Also, the second part of the book does pick up. Seeing the politics of the kingdom and the corruption of said kingdom being exposed is interesting. I did enjoy this book overall and I am left looking forward to the final book in the series. I would recommend finishing this book if you enjoyed the first novel in the Red Queen series because the build-up to the final installment is promising.
