Cross Down
by Brendan DuBois, James Patterson
While this was a page turner I couldn’t put down, and while I enjoyed the new perspective of a story from Samson’s POV, I would not have called this an Alex Cross book.
The subject matter is horrifying and I truly hope a lot of poetic license was put into play and that these events couldn’t actually come to fruition in real life. An omen to be certain that I hope is taken heed in today’s fraught political and media “at all costs no matter the truth” driven climate.
I hope we see more stories from Samson’s POV in the future. But please don’t market them as Alex Cross mysteries. I adore Alex Cross stories and get excited when I see a new one in the shelves. Don’t play with my heart like that Mr. Patterson. And Samson deserves to shine in his own merit. Let him out of Alex’s shadow!
