Absolutely beautiful illustrations concerning the Boxer Rebellion in China, from 1899-1901. I will admit my own ignorance on the topic, so it was very interesting to read about it through the eyes of this fictional character, Little Bao, who fights through the characters from Chinese history and opera. Very compelling read, with some interesting styles in telling the story of Little Bao during this time.
