I expected this book to be one of those typical romantic books where I knew exactly what was going to happen before it happened. They're that predictable. But this book surprised me. I didn't expect that twist. And if I remember correctly, that part changed everything for me. My mind was just blown. It was worth the read and I've finished this book a while back but I didn't know what to write in this review. Then, I procrastinated and now here we are like a month or two later. I remember one part of the story where I just really wanted to put the book down. The whole story, I'm not thinking much about her skin color because the book give no indication that her skin is a matter at all. Then out of the blue, people are wondering why he's with her and her skin color is brought up and I didn't really feel that part. Throughout the whole story, her being black wasn't even mentioned then all of a sudden she's being called names and crying and then the issue of her skin is a big deal. They proceed to talking about it for like probably one or two pages before moving on and I don't know. Now that I'm remembering that, in my opinion (and maybe I'm wrong) but it didn't feel sincere. It didn't feel real. I feel like that whole part should've just been thrown out at the editing process because it didn't fit with the rest of the book/chapters. It came like a tornado. No warning or anything. Besides that, the book was okay. It was good. I'll give it a 3.5 stars. Thank you for your effort and time!
