Surprisingly technical for a fiction book, felt at times that Sagan was perhaps flexing his lexicon and scientific mind. It was a very well thought out concept, and all felt grounded in reality though. Some really beautiful and fascinating ideas explored too. What holds it back is that the momentum doesn't really build up to much in a lot of scenes / chapters; they appear more for debate and expressing ideas than for plot development.
