Darling Jim
by Christian Mørk
This is a thriller that begins when a mailman discovers the body of a woman in her home. Two more bodies and a mysterious diary later, the author introduces a charming storyteller who travels from pub to pub telling pieces of a dark fairy tale to his audience. Through an elaborate plot, the author explains how this storyteller is responsible for the deaths of the three women. The book was a little too fantastical for me, and I found the fairy tale inserts to be distracting and annoying. The author was obviously trying to be creative (and he was), but it was too over the top for me.
